Dua for First Ashra
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَاَنْتَ خَیْرُ الرّٰحِمِیْن
O! My Lord forgives and has Mercy, and You are the Best of Merciful.
Dua for Second Ashra
اَسْتَغْفِرُاللّٰهَ رَبِّیْ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ وَّاَتُوْبُ اِلَیْهِ
seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins and turn to Him.
Dua for Third Ashra
اللّٰھُمَّ إِنَّکَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنَّا
O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me
Dua during Times of Hardship
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا سَهْلَ إِلَّا مَا جَعَلْتَهٗ سَهْلًا وَّأَنْتَ تَجْعَلُ الْحَزَنَ إِذَا شِئْتَ سَهْلًا
O Allah! There is no ease but the ease You provide. If You will, You can turn hardship into ease.
Pre-Meal Prayer
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَعَلٰی بَرَكَةِ اللّٰهِ
I begin with the name of Allah and upon the blessings of Allah, I start eating.
Dua if the Bismillah is Forgotten at the Start of the Meal
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اَوَّلَهٗ وَاٰخِرَهٗ
In the name of Allah, at the beginning and end, I invoke the name of Allah.
Post-Meal Prayer
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا، وَجَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ
All praises are for God, who fed us and gave us drink, and made us Muslims.
Second Post-Meal Prayer
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنِيْ هٰذَا الطَّعَامَ، وَرَزَقَنِيْهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِّنِّيْ وَلَا قُوَّةٍ۔
All praises are for God, who fed me this food, without any effort or strength on my part.
Dua when Rising from the Dining Table
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ حَمْدًا كَثِيْرًا طَيِّبًا مُّبَارَكًا فِيْهِ غَيْرَ مَکْفِيٍّ وَّ لَا مُوَدَّعٍ وَّ لَا مُسْتَغْنًی عَنْهُ رَبَّنَا
All praises are for Allah alone, abundant, pure, and blessed praises. O our Lord! We are not rising from this food either considering it enough or being satiated from it without needing more.
Dua after Washing Hands Post-Meal
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَشْبَعْتَ، وَاَرْوَیْتَ فَھَنِّئْنَا، وَرَزَقْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ، وَاَطَبْتَ فَزِدْنَا
O Allah! You have filled our stomachs and given us drink, so make it a part of our bodies and grant us more.
Dua after Drinking Milk
اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ
O Allah! Bless it for us and give us more than that.
Dua after Inviting Others to Eat
اَللّٰھُمَّ اَطْعِمْ مَّنْ اَطْعَمَنِيْ وَاسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِيْ۔
O Allah! The one who provided for me, make him eat and the one who gave me drink, make him drink.
Second Dua after Inviting Others to Eat
اَکَلَ طَعَامَکَمُ الْاَبْرَارُ، وَصَلَّتْ عَلَیْکُمُ الْمَلَائِکَةُ، وَاَفْطَرَ عِنْدَکُمُ الصَّائِمُوْنَ
May righteous people eat your food, and may angels send blessings upon you, and may fasting individuals break their fast at your table.
Dua when Leaving the Host's House
اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيْ مَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ، وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ
O Allah! Bless their sustenance, forgive them, and have mercy on them.
Dua after Drinking Zamzam Water
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أسْئَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَّافِعًا وَّ رِزْقًا وَّاسِعًا وَّشِفَاءً مِّنْ کُلِّ دَاءٍ
O Allah! I seek beneficial knowledge from You, and sustenance that is abundant and healing from every disease.
Dua before Drinking Water
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Sit and drink water or any other drink, and do not drink in one gulp like a camel, but in two or three breaths, and do not breathe or blow into the vessel. And when you finish, say Bismillah before drinking and Alhamdulillah after drinking.
Dua in Times of Affliction
إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ، اَللّٰهُمَّ اْجُرْنِيْ فِيْ مُصِيْبَتِيْ، وَاخْلُفْ لِيْ خَيْرًا مِّنْهَا
Surely we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. O Allah! Give me reward in my affliction and grant me a better substitute in return.
Dua during Visiting the Sick
لَابَأْسَ طَھُوْرٌ اِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ
There is no harm; Insha Allah, this sickness will be a means of purification for you.
Second Dua during Visiting the Sick
أَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ الْعَظِيْمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ أَنْ يَّشْفِيَكَ
I ask Allah the Great, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you.
Dua for Rainfall
اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْثِنَا
For rainfall, recite this three times.
Second Dua for Rainfall
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْزِلْ عَلٰی اَرْضِنَا زِیْنَتَهَا وَ سَکَنَھَا
O Allah! Bless our land with its adornment (i.e., flowers and plants) and remove its discomfort.
Second Post-Meal Dua
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ ھُوَ اَشْبَعَنَا، وَاَرْوَانَا وَاَنْعَمَ عَلَیْنَا، وَاَفْضَلَ۔
All praises are for God, who filled our stomachs, quenched our thirst, bestowed upon us blessings, and gave abundantly.
Dua for the Night of Qadr (Laylat al-Qadr)
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ
Surely, You are the Most Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive me.
Dua for Sending Greetings
وَعَلَیْكَ وَعَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ
Peace be upon you and upon them.
Dua for Loving Someone for the Sake of Allah
اَحَبَّكَ الَّذِيْ اَحْبَبْتَنِيْ
May Allah love you, for the sake of whom you love me.
Dua for Someone Who Has Done a Favor
جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَیْرًا
May Allah reward you with goodness.
Dua when Repaying a Debt
اَوْفَیْتَنِيْ اَوْفَی اللهُ بِكَ
You have fulfilled my debt, O Allah! May You grant abundance (in this world and the Hereafter).
Dua upon Seeing a Beloved Thing
اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ بِنِعْمَتِهٖ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
All praise is for Allah, through whose blessing good things are perfected.
Dua upon Feeling Displeased with Something
اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰهِ عَلٰی كُلِّ حَالٍ
In every situation, Allah deserves praise.
Dua upon Seeing Fire
اَللّٰهُ اَكْبَرُ
When you see fire, recite Allahu Akbar three times so that it may extinguish.
Dua for Someone who Has Been Burned
أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، اِشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِيْ لَا شَافِيَ إِلَّا اَنْتَ
O Lord of all humans! Remove the pain, for indeed, You are the Healer. There is no healer but You.
Dua when going to Sleep
اَللّٰهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ اَمُوْتُ وَ اَحْیٰی.
O Allah! I live and die upon Your name.
Dua in Times of Affliction
يَا ‌حَيُّ ‌يَا ‌قَيُّوْمُ ‌بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْثُ
O Ever-Living and Sustainer! I seek help through Your mercy.
Dua for Protection against Injustice from a Ruler
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمٰوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ كُنْ لِّيْ جَاراً مِّنْ شَرِّ فُلَانِ بْنِ فُلَانٍ وَ شَرِّ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ وَاَتْبَاعِهِمْ أنْ يَّفْرُطَ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَوْ اَنْ يَّطْغٰى عَزَّ جَارُكَ وَجَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَلَا إِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and the Great Throne! Protect me from the evil of so and so (ruler), and from all wicked humans, jinn, and their followers. Take me under Your protection so that none of them can oppress me. Whoever is under Your protection is honored, and Your praise and glory are exalted. There is no deity but You; You are the only true deity.
Dua during Severe Distress and Anxiety
اَللّٰهُمَّ ‌فَارِجَ ‌الْهَمِّ كَاشِفَ الْغَمِّ مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ رَحْمٰنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَرَحِيْمَهُمَا أَنْتَ تَرْحَمُنِيْ فَارْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَةٍ تُغْنِيْنِيْ بِهَا عَنْ رَّحْمَةِ مَنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah! Remove this distress and anxiety, and accept the prayers of the helpless in both worlds. You are the Most Merciful, so have mercy on me, shower me with Your mercy, which makes others independent and unconcerned about me.
Dua when one cannot sleep
اَللّٰهُمَّ غَارَتِ النُّجُوْمُ، وَھَدَأَتِ الْعُیُوْنُ، وَ اَنْتَ حَیٌّ قَیُّوْمٌ، لَا تَأْخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَّ لَا نَوْمٌ، یَاحَیُّ یَاقَیُّوْمُ اَھْدِءْ لَیْلِیْ وَ اَنِمْ عَیْنِیْ
O Allah, stars have set, eyes have rested, You alone are the Ever-Alive, and the Self-Subsisting Source of all beings; neither slumber nor sleep overtakes You. Make my night comforting for me, and bring sleep unto my eyes.
